Private jet to White Plains

White Plains is particularly useful when the journey genuinely ends in Westchester County, Greenwich or the northern New York suburbs. Westchester County Airport sits in the middle of that area and is strongly oriented towards private and corporate flying. With several FBOs, U.S. border processing and short road transfers to many Westchester addresses, HPN can keep the arrival remarkably simple.

HPN brings you directly into Westchester

For White Plains, Westchester County Airport (HPN / KHPN) is the natural airport. It sits northeast of New York City, close to White Plains, Purchase, Rye and the Connecticut state line. several FBOs handle private passengers, including Atlantic Aviation and Million Air. Travellers can therefore arrive through a private facility and continue directly to their chauffeur once U.S. border formalities are complete.

The current CBP procedure also makes HPN practical for a direct international private flight. According to the airport information updated in March 2026, inspection is available daily from 07:30 to 23:15 local time. Permission to land must be secured before departure from abroad and the published procedure asks operators to contact CBP at least two hours before departure. Processing can take place at Signature-West, Million Air or Atlantic-East, depending on the FBO agreed with CBP in advance. The result is a compact arrival without moving through a separate airline terminal before returning to the private-aviation side.

HPN's main runway is approximately 6,549 ft long. That is suitable for many modern business jets, but a heavily loaded long-range flight still requires a proper check of the specific aircraft. Westchester County also asks operators voluntarily to refrain from flying between midnight and 06:30. We do not present this as a hard airport closure, but we plan outside the quiet overnight period whenever the itinerary allows.

In Westchester, the destination area matters more than the city name

Purchase and Harrison are close to the airport and home to a number of international businesses. Greenwich sits just across the Connecticut state line and, for many corporate and private journeys, is a more important final destination than White Plains itself. Bedford, Scarsdale, Rye, Armonk and the Hudson Valley each require a different road transfer. When preparing a quote, we would therefore rather know the real address than simply receive “New York” as the destination.

For a meeting or stay in White Plains, the transfer is usually short. The Opus Westchester at Renaissance Square provides a central hotel with restaurants and meeting facilities. Kanopi, high in the same complex, looks across the Hudson Valley, Long Island Sound and towards New York. Travellers continuing to Greenwich may prefer Delamar Greenwich Harbor, directly on the waterfront with its own marina. For a quieter stay farther north, Bedford Post Inn offers a smaller and more rural alternative.

HPN can work for selected addresses in the northern part of New York City, but a journey to Midtown or Downtown requires a different comparison and belongs on the New York page. For White Plains, the advantage is much simpler: land in the same region where the meeting, residence or hotel is actually located.

Super Midsize or Heavy Jet can both make sense

The distance from the Netherlands is within the practical range of several modern Super Midsize Jets, depending on passenger numbers, baggage and weather. For a smaller group, the category can be attractive, combining a comfortable cabin and useful luggage capacity with a size well suited to HPN's 6,549-ft runway. A Heavy Jet provides a larger cabin and more reserve for the long flight towards the United States against the prevailing winds.

The choice becomes particularly important for the return journey. An aircraft arriving at HPN after many hours from Europe has burned a large share of its fuel and is comparatively light. Departing for Amsterdam or another European destination is different because it needs to carry the fuel for the long sector. Temperature, wind, passengers and baggage then determine how much runway the particular type requires. Some Heavy Jets can make the nonstop return very comfortably; with other combinations, a short fuel stop may offer better margins.

We therefore do not recommend an aircraft category simply because it has the largest cabin. We first look at who is travelling, what baggage is coming and where each flight needs to start and finish. We then compare actual aircraft. A domestic continuation within the United States may also suit a smaller jet than the original transatlantic journey. Private aviation works best when each leg is treated as its own mission.

Westchester works for business and as a quieter base

Greenwich and Rye sit on Long Island Sound, Bedford and North Salem are greener and more rural, while Tarrytown and Pocantico Hills lie closer to the Hudson. HPN therefore also works well for private residences, golf, estates and a few days outside the city. Dinner at Kanopi in White Plains or a stay on Greenwich Harbor can be combined easily with a corporate schedule.

Spring and autumn often bring pleasant weather and are popular for events, golf and visits to the Hudson Valley. In winter, snow, frost and possible de-icing become part of the planning. Busy weekends and major events can require more attention to parking and FBO capacity, but we do not invent a general booking deadline where none is officially published. Current conditions are confirmed once the travel dates are known.

For JetServiceNL, White Plains is therefore a destination where good preparation mainly saves time on the ground. If the destination area is in Westchester or Greenwich, HPN can combine the international flight, border processing and chauffeur into one compact arrival. We check the actual aircraft against the runway and return sector, coordinate the planned arrival with CBP and make sure the chauffeur is waiting at the correct FBO. The journey can remain calm from the moment the aircraft door opens.
