Flying privately to Bol on the island of Brač
Bol is one of the few Croatian island destinations with its own airport for international private flights. From the Netherlands, the indicative flight time to Brač is approximately 2 hours 20 minutes. The drive from the airport to Bol usually takes around half an hour, depending on your specific location. This avoids the conventional journey through Split and a separate crossing to the island.
The direct route does not suit every jet. Brač Airport has a shorter runway than a large international airport and availability is seasonal. We therefore have the proposed aircraft assessed in advance with your party and luggage in mind. The outcome for you remains simple: fly direct when it works well, or travel comfortably through Split when that provides more certainty, space or choice.
Direct to Brač or through Split?
Landing at Brač Airport creates the shortest door-to-door journey to Bol, the island’s southern side and many inland villas. A modern turboprop is often a strong option: comfortable on this distance, well suited to a compact party and practical for the airport. Certain Light Jets may also work, subject to confirmation for the individual flight. For more passengers or substantial luggage, a larger aircraft through Split can be more attractive.
Split Airport offers a wider selection of aircraft and departure times. A chauffeur can take you to the harbour, followed by a private speedboat to Bol or another landing point on Brač. The journey across the water feels more like the beginning of the holiday than a necessary connection. In stronger winds, or when a boat is less comfortable, car and ferry remain available. We compare journey time, comfort and price for both routes in one proposal.
Bol, Zlatni Rat and southern Brač
Bol lies between the Adriatic and the slopes of Vidova Gora. Its best-known sight is Zlatni Rat, the distinctive pebble spit whose shape changes with wind and currents. Beaches around Bol offer clear water and excellent swimming, paddleboarding, diving and windsurfing. Travellers seeking privacy can choose a villa outside the centre, an intimate stay among vineyards or a quiet bay towards Murvica.
The old centre and waterfront are compact and inviting for dinner by the sea. Local food centres on fresh fish, olive oil, lamb, cheese and island wine. A private tasting or lunch with a producer provides a peaceful counterpoint to a day on the water. Bol has enough restaurants and terraces to feel lively, while remaining more intimate than the Mediterranean’s famous party islands.
Exploring the island by land and sea
Brač offers more than one beach. Vidova Gora, the highest point on the Adriatic islands, overlooks Bol and neighbouring islands. Inland are stone villages, olive groves and vineyards. On the northern side, Supetar, Sutivan and Pučišća provide harbours, historic streets and another perspective. A car and chauffeur make it easy to add lunch, a walk or winery visit to your stay.
Bol’s setting becomes fully apparent from the sea. A private boat opens up quiet coves around Brač and day trips to Hvar, Šolta or the Split coastline. For guests joining a yacht, we align landing with the chosen harbour and embarkation time. Soft travel bags are often more practical aboard a boat than rigid cases; our aircraft selection accounts for both parts of the journey.
Aircraft, luggage and your party
For two to six travellers, a turboprop is often the most logical direct solution. A suitable Light Jet adds the jet-cabin experience and speed, once operation into Brač has been confirmed. For a larger family, greater cabin comfort or bulky luggage, we compare a roomier aircraft into Split with the direct route. This prevents the most attractive flight on paper from feeling too restricted in practice.
Best season and return planning
June and September often combine warm weather with a calmer atmosphere. July and August bring the liveliest season, but also the strongest demand for villas, boats, flights and preferred timings. May and early October may appeal for walking, cycling and food, although services outside the summer season are more limited.
For a multi-day stay, we compare drop-and-go with an aircraft returning later. At Brač, parking or the flight schedule may mean the aircraft departs after dropping you off; this has no effect on your stay when the return is secured in advance. Share your dates, party size, luggage and accommodation. JetServiceNL will create one clear proposal covering flight, airport, transfer and return.
