Valencia Airport: close enough for private aviation to save real time
For private flights we use Valencia Airport (VLC / LEVC) at Manises. The airport lies immediately west of the city and has a runway of roughly 2,700 metres. Aena explicitly notes that Valencia handles substantial General Aviation activity alongside scheduled traffic, with private aviation companies and related operators present on the airport. For the traveller, the key point is that business aviation is a normal part of the operation rather than an unusual exception.
The short ground transfer is one of Valencia’s strongest advantages. The historic centre, Eixample and many business locations can often be reached in twenty to thirty minutes outside heavy traffic. The marina, Malvarrosa and the beach require a little more time, but the airport remains unusually close for a major Mediterranean city. This makes Valencia particularly effective for a lunch meeting, event or weekend where you prefer to arrive on the day itself.
In summer and around major events, demand for handling, chauffeurs and hotels can increase. Valencia is not, however, a small island airport with an unusually short runway. Operational planning is therefore generally straightforward; we focus on current handling, any coordination requirements and aircraft parking for the exact date.
Light or Super Light Jet: nonstop, fast and matched to the group
For Amsterdam – Valencia, a Light or Super Light Jet is a strong first comparison. A modern Light Jet is efficient for two to five passengers and can operate the route nonstop. A Super Light Jet provides more cabin space, wider seating and often a better baggage profile for six to eight travellers. On a flight of more than two hours, that comfort difference is noticeable, but a Midsize Jet is usually unnecessary unless the group or cabin preference genuinely requires it.
Because runway length is comfortable, Valencia allows us to compare the market primarily on commercial merit. A Phenom 300, Citation CJ-series aircraft or similar jet can be an excellent fit, but the best quote is not always the exact model you had in mind before asking. Positioning often matters more. A jet already in Spain or southern France can price better than an identical aircraft that must first fly empty from northern Europe.
For golf trips, families or longer stays, we always ask about baggage. Full-size suitcases, golf bags and children’s equipment can fill a compact Light Jet well before the passenger seats do. We therefore compare actual baggage capacity and, where useful, show a roomier aircraft in the same or next category.
Historic centre, modern architecture and the Mediterranean
Valencia works because you do not have to choose between a city break and the coast. The old town, Mercado Central and the districts around Colón sit close together. Caro Hotel is a distinctive boutique choice inside a historic building; Palacio Vallier and Only YOU Valencia provide other central options. Travellers who prefer the sea can stay around Las Arenas and the Malvarrosa promenade.
The city also has a very modern side around the City of Arts and Sciences. For corporate groups and events, that area can be more practical than the historic centre. The marina and beach sit farther east again. We therefore ask where most of the itinerary takes place before setting chauffeur timing and the desired touchdown.
Food is an important part of Valencia. Paella originates from this region, but the city also has sophisticated contemporary dining. Ricard Camarena is one of the best-known names. For a more informal lunch by the sea, the restaurants around El Cabanyal and the coast are often more attractive. Flying privately allows a late lunch or dinner to become part of the itinerary, provided the operational departure time is planned correctly in advance.
Price indication, events and a route that works on the ground too
Valencia is attractive for short holidays, business visits, sport and events. During major congresses or sporting weekends, demand for premium hotels and chauffeurs may rise faster than airport restrictions themselves. On those dates, it makes sense to plan the flight and transfer as one journey. Reserving the ideal jet has limited value if the preferred chauffeur or hotel is not available until much later.
When our Destination Pricing snapshot contains sufficient comparable recent data, the page may display an initial indication for a Light or Super Light Jet. The live proposal then looks again at the exact date, aircraft position, length of stay, crew and handling. For a short city break the same aircraft may sometimes wait; for a week-long stay, repositioning is often more logical.
After your request, JetServiceNL compares the current market and checks whether a Light or Super Light Jet best suits the group. We include the final address so the arrival time and chauffeur plan fit the real itinerary. Valencia then remains exactly what makes it such a strong private-jet destination: relatively close, comfortable nonstop and quick from aircraft to city or sea.
