Corfu Airport: close to town, carefully coordinated in summer
Private flights to Corfu use Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport (CFU / LGKR), the only practical local airport. The runway is around 2,375 metres and supports several business-jet categories. Fraport Greece manages Corfu and publishes a formal PPR procedure and operating coordination framework for its regional airports. During peak season the requested arrival time should therefore not be treated as automatic: handler, operator and airport need to fit the mission into the available capacity.
The airport is unusually close to Corfu Town. Transfers to the town itself or Kommeno can therefore be relatively short. Guests heading to Kassiopi, Nissaki or a villa farther along the north-east coast face a much longer drive. Narrow island roads and summer traffic can make the journey more variable than the map suggests, so we build in additional margin and ask for the exact villa address.
In July and August, aircraft parking can become the more important constraint. A private jet may be able to drop passengers without being permitted to remain for the full holiday. A drop-and-go with repositioning to Athens, Thessaloniki or another suitable airport can then become part of the mission. This is manageable, but it affects both price and the logistics of the return flight.
Super Light or Midsize Jet: comfort for the island sector
For Amsterdam – Corfu we normally recommend a Super Light or Midsize Jet. The indicative flight time is just under three hours. A Super Light Jet is often fast and efficient for four to seven passengers, while a Midsize Jet provides more cabin and baggage space for a larger group or a longer holiday.
Corfu trips often have a strong leisure baggage profile: large suitcases, beach and sports items, children’s luggage and sometimes equipment for a yacht or villa stay. The most suitable aircraft category can therefore be larger than distance alone might suggest. We check the actual baggage volume of every aircraft offered and whether the operator can perform the sector commercially with the required payload.
Summer weather is generally favourable, although local winds and thunderstorm activity can still affect operations. The operator verifies current conditions, NOTAMs and aircraft performance. Corfu’s runway gives more flexibility than some smaller Greek leisure airports, yet planning remains important because a missed timing during a very busy period can affect coordination, handling and parking.
Corfu Town, Kommeno or the north-east coast
Corfu Town works well for a short stay built around restaurants, architecture and a lively evening atmosphere. Kommeno and Dassia offer quieter resort options between the airport and the north of the island. The north-east coast around Nissaki and Kassiopi is popular for villas, coves and private boats, but requires more road time. Guests heading straight to a yacht should therefore provide the actual marina or jetty rather than simply “Corfu”.
High-end stays include Angsana Corfu, Domes Miramare and Ikos Dassia, each with a different style. Travellers seeking maximum privacy often choose a villa on the north-east coast. For dinner, The Venetian Well in Corfu Town provides an atmospheric setting, while Etrusco near Kato Korakiana is a long-established gastronomic name. On Corfu, restaurant location can have a much greater impact on evening travel time than in a compact city.
May, June, September and early October are attractive for warm weather with less peak congestion. July and August deliver the full island season, but popular villas, restaurants, boats and private-flight capacity should be secured earlier. For families, a slightly earlier or later flight can sometimes create a calmer airport experience and an easier road transfer.
Villa arrivals on the north-east coast can also make the final part of the transfer surprisingly important. Some properties sit behind narrow access roads or are easier to reach from a pre-arranged meeting point. For larger families or substantial baggage, a second vehicle can be sensible. If a boat completes the last leg, we align chauffeur and skipper around the same ETA so the arrival remains smooth even when the flight lands a little earlier or later.
What determines the private jet price to Corfu?
The price begins with the available Super Light or Midsize Jet, but there can be a significant difference between a normal date and a peak summer weekend. Aircraft position, parking and the need to reposition after drop-off are important factors. A jet that must leave the island for five days creates a different mission cost from one able to remain for a same-day return.
The return sector deserves the same attention. When outbound and inbound flights are separated by several days, the same operator is not automatically the best solution in both directions. Sometimes one return charter is efficient; in other cases two favourable aircraft positions can produce a better overall result. We compare the full mission rather than assuming one structure.
Any online price indication is read only from the pre-built Destination Pricing snapshot. The page performs no live calculations. An indication appears only when enough comparable data exists for the same category. Particularly in July and August, a current request remains essential because parking and positioning can change relatively quickly.
